Make it over the hump: Weight loss hypnosis

Look in the mirror. Look yourself in the eye and count to ten. Do not blink or look away. Take everything in. What went through your mind during those ten seconds? For a lot of people, things like “I can’t get rid of these love handles” and “my upper arms used to be so much more defined” or “is that a double chin?!” There is a lot of negative focus on the way that adults see themselves that stems from a lifetime of seeing, hearing, and believing that they can always be better.

You’re not alone!

You didn’t come to these conclusions about your body image all on your own. Everything from mundane conversation at the water cooler every day to what you listen to in the car on the way home to discussions with family and friends outside of work and the things that you watch on television or read in magazines affects the way that you see yourself. These associations are made throughout your adult life, and you’re not the only one making them. Others hear and see these things as well and the things that you say in response about yourself most likely makes them think about their own body. It’s a circle that never seems to end. Whenever you lose weight, you see or hear something that makes you wonder about other parts of your body and making another change.

Break the cycle!

You don’t have to continue walking around in that same path forever. Weight loss hypnosis can help you to break out and create your own path. Take control of your life and learn how you can become open to positive suggestions about making a true change for your body.

Make the decision to be positive! This is the first step on your new path. It will be very difficult to manifest a physical change if you keep negative thought patterns that have been damaging until now.

Stick to your decision. It could happen immediately or it could take time. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t achieve your goals right away. Let it happen naturally.

Set goals with YOU in mind!

If you make unrealistic promises to yourself, you’re setting yourself up to break them from the beginning.

1. Sketch out your goals. Literally. Imagine the number that you want to see on the scale. Write down than number and look at it every day, even several times a day. Buy yourself an outfit in the size that you are planning to fit into. Make it something that you’ve always wanted to wear and put this outfit in plain sight, someplace that you will see it every day. Let the visualization motivate you!

2. Is this YOUR desire? It’s really easy to hear your friend say that they’re going to lose ten pounds for bikini season and say “hey I’ll join you!” However, this is a disservice to yourself. Your body is unique. You have to set goals that are truly your desire and work for your body.

3. Consider your schedule. Is it really possible for you to make it to the gym when you work five days a week and juggle schedules for three children? You don’t have to sacrifice your goals to keep up with your lifestyle, but you can find ways to work around it and give yourself a better chance at success.

Your hypnotherapist can help you relax your mind and get past all of the negative associations that might have hindered you from losing weight in the past. Make the decision to let weight loss hypnosis help you to be positive and see your body and your weight loss goals in a whole new way!
